That would be me, yes. I do most of the LJ layouts. I did my own as well.

I will share a trade secret, though. Join an LJ layout community and scan through their layouts. Pick one you like and take the override code. Make sure it's for the old S1 layout, not the new S2... and then start messing with the code.

For example. My LJ layout came from: http://headerswap3.livejournal.com/

I took the override and started recoloring and adding a picture that would fit the size they had for the header that was there. In the override there's usually links to pictures and also hex codes for what colors are used where. It's so simple :3
